Brooklyn bound F train Carroll st platform - mix and match year’s best
Check out repeeled, a new Tumblr blog that looks ‘beneath the surface’ of NYC. In just a few weeks of existence, the blog already has posted some great photos, including this great shot above.
When asked about the inspiration for the repeeled, creator Matt Sudol told me this:
I see stuff getting torn, fading, changing everyday - this is me documenting what I see
Certainly looking forward to seeing more of this.
Sedentary Rich Folks
Call me new-fashioned, but I never understood why museums display so many paintings of sedentary rich folks. Not to mention, the same institutions also fully preserve and display the rooms where said rich folks lived. Apologies, but, try as I might, I just can’t see the art in that.
Abraham Lincoln and his Husky.
This is image is one in a series being produced by Tumblr user smellslikemegan. “I’ve always wanted to see how presidents would look modernized,” she says, “so I’m making it happen.” The results are fascinating.
Posted to date: George Washington and Benjamin Franklin (not a president)
h/t to Braiker for finding this.
